Telecom providers in Brazil ordered to unblock access to X

Following a determination by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which lifted the suspension of access to platform X, the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) notified telecommunications service providers to allow their customers to have access to X.

Anatel informed, in a note, that it is now up to providers to take the necessary technical measures to implement the court order.

The blockade, which lasted more than 1 month (practically 40 days), was lifted by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, author of the blockade decision, on September 30, after the company closed its office in Brazil and no longer had a legal representative in the country, a mandatory condition for any firm to operate.

After lawyer Rachel Villa Nova returned to being the legal representative of the n Brasil network, and with the payment of fines totaling R$28.6 million, X asked the minister to return to the air.

It is estimated that the platform will take 24 hours to become fully operational again across the country.
